The Art of the Facelift

The facelift corrects skin laxity and the ptosis of deep tissues to restore natural, harmonious, and long-lasting contours.

A / Cervicofacial lift

The cervicofacial lift is a surgical procedure that rejuvenates the face and neck by correcting skin laxity and the ptosis of deep tissues, in order to restore natural, harmonious contours.

AnesthesiaGeneral
Duration3 to 5 hours
Stay24 to 48 hours
Recovery2 weeks to 2 months

Recovery can vary from one patient to another.

Important: a purely subcutaneous lift should be avoided, as it can freeze the face, widen the scars, alter the contour and the earlobe, with results that are not long-lasting (1 to 2 years).

Tobacco: smoking in all its forms (cigarettes, vaping, e-cigarettes, shisha, and passive exposure from those around you) compromises the quality of healing and increases the risk of complications. Strict cessation is essential 2 to 6 months before the procedure, including a minimum of 2 months before the surgery.

SMAS Plication

SMAS plication consists of tightening the superficial musculo-aponeurotic system with plication sutures, without deep dissection, allowing targeted tissue repositioning.

  • Recovery: swelling and bruising vary according to the patient's general condition; each recovery is unique.
  • Result: natural and harmonious, lasting 7 to 10 years.

Deep Plane Facelift

The deep plane facelift relies on a deep dissection and repositioning of the SMAS, allowing a global, anatomical re-tensioning of the facial structures. This more demanding technique, requiring a longer operating time, offers a particularly natural and lasting result.

  • Recovery: swelling and bruising vary according to the patient's general condition; each recovery is unique.
  • Result: very natural, lasting 7 to 10 years.

B / Endoscopic lift

The endoscopic lift is a modern facial rejuvenation technique, particularly used for the upper third (forehead, temples, eyebrows), with minimal scarring.

Technically, it relies on an endoscopic camera introduced through small incisions hidden in the scalp, allowing the tissues to be released and repositioned at depth, without extensive skin detachment.

  • Anesthesia: general or local with sedation.
  • Duration: 1.5 to 3 hours.
  • Stay: outpatient or 24 hours.
  • Recovery: swelling and bruising vary from patient to patient.
  • Result: a rejuvenating and enhancing effect, with a possible refinement of the facial features. The scars are very discreet.

C / Malar lift

The malar lift is a targeted technique to rejuvenate the midface, particularly the cheeks and nasolabial folds. It is performed through an incision below the lashes, via a lower blepharoplasty, allowing the deep facial structures to be lifted and fixed to the orbital rim.

  • Anesthesia: general
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Stay: outpatient or 24 hours
  • Recovery: significant swelling during the first month, with facial features that take time to stabilize.
  • Result: a rejuvenating and enhancing effect on the midface, with natural, harmonious features. The scars are very discreet.

D / Temporal lift

The temporal lift is performed through a 3 to 4 cm incision in the scalp, above the temples, allowing the eyebrow to be raised and the gaze to be opened. It may or may not be combined with a canthopexy to modify the shape of the palpebral fissure.

  • Procedure duration: 1.5 hours
  • Recovery: often mild, with a tightened appearance that relaxes naturally about 4 weeks after the operation.
  • Result: rejuvenation or modification of the gaze according to the objective, for a natural, harmonious effect or a sophisticated result.

E / Forehead lift

The classic forehead lift is performed through a bicoronal incision, from one ear to the other, allowing the entire forehead to be raised. This older technique is now performed less and less, as it shifts the hairline and requires multiple sutures in the scalp. It can now be effectively replaced by botulinum toxin, which offers a less invasive, quick forehead rejuvenation with natural results.

F / Neck lift

The neck lift is performed through a discreet incision behind the ear, targeting the neck exclusively. This technique tightens the skin and deep structures of the neck for a localized rejuvenating effect, without altering the facial features.

  • Procedure duration: 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • Recovery: moderate swelling and bruising, with a gradual relaxation of the tightening in the weeks following the operation.
  • Result: improvement of the neck's oval and the cervico-mental contour, for a natural, harmonious effect.
