Abdominoplasty

Restoring firmness and harmony to the abdomen.

The art of restructuring

Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure targeting abdominal skin and muscle laxity that cannot be corrected by liposuction alone or by modern skin-retraction techniques.

It is intended for patients with laxity of the rectus abdominis muscles, often after one or more pregnancies, combined with excess skin below the navel. This distension is sometimes called a linea alba hernia.

Essential Precaution

Abdominoplasty is one of the procedures where strict smoking cessation is crucial. It is recommended to stop all nicotine consumption at least two months before the procedure.

  • Traditional cigarettes
  • E-cigarettes (vaping)
  • Shisha or hookah
  • Any product containing nicotine

Even passive smoking can increase the risk of post-operative complications, particularly abdominal necrosis.

The Pillars of the Procedure

1. Targeted liposuction

Above the navel and on the flanks to harmonize volumes and prepare the area.

2. Artistic incision

The skin of the lower abdomen is detached, and the excess skin below the navel is removed. The incision is carefully positioned to remain discreet under underwear or a bikini.

3. Plication of the rectus muscles

To restore the tone and curve of the abdominal wall.

4. Repositioning of the navel

The navel is repositioned to create a natural fleur-de-lis shape, subtle and elegant, even allowing a future piercing if desired.

A. Aesthetic Abdominoplasty

A. Aesthetic Abdominoplasty

Aesthetic abdominoplasty aims to recover a flat, firm, and sculpted belly and to create a harmonious, attractive silhouette. It is particularly suited to patients whose skin and muscle laxity is significant but who do not have substantial intra-abdominal fat.

Key point: when intra-abdominal fat is abundant, even plication of the rectus muscles cannot correct the bulge above the navel.

  • check_circle Sculpting of the lower-back curve to define the waist and create a mermaid shape
  • check_circle A BBL (fat transfer to the buttocks) to give natural, harmonious heart-shaped buttocks

The surgeon's artistry is revealed in the discreet, perfectly positioned incision, the natural repositioning of the navel, the harmonization of volumes and contours, the creation of a slim waist and a sculpted lower-back curve, and the subtle reshaping of the buttocks for a natural heart-shaped BBL.

B. Functional Abdominoplasty

B. Functional Abdominoplasty

Functional abdominoplasty is intended for obese patients with a significant abdominal apron that hangs over the thighs and causes lower-back and joint pain.

  • check_circle Restore comfort and mobility
  • check_circle Without aiming for a perfect aesthetic result, with liposuction remaining secondary
